The episode will begin with a conversation between Dan Munford and Joseph Bona, President of Bona Design Lab which considers the current global race for the perfect drive-thru, mostly in the US QSR space, with added elements of personalization and customer service. Interestingly, the economics of adding drive-thru is altering the economic model for brick and mortar locations. How may this affect future store size and labour requirements?

Technology is a driving factor for drive-thru innovation. The next segment of the programme will feature Murshed Mohammed, co-founder of Dubai based DRIVU. Drive-Thru culture was already well established in the Middle East prior to the Pandemic; now it is seen as a necessity. In a short presentation, Murshed will share how DRIVU’s solution provides operators without existing drive-thru infrastructure with a highly convenient Curb-side pick-up offer.

Continuing our Middle East region focus, our next item will showcase recent developments at innovative UAE player Emarat. An early adopter of an “on the go” café offering Emarat are once again leading the region’s thinking in convenience store design and planning. Ahead of our Shop Tall LIVE programme all registered attendees will be sent a preview virtual store tour video featuring one of Emarat’s latest sites.

Working with Shopworks, Emarat have radically re-thought their traditional format to be more intuitive for their customers and to drive sales of their key categories. Darren Smith and Nabile Aityoussef from Emarat will discuss the new thinking and category focus with Craig Phillipson from Shopworks. How has Emarat’s store planning, customer flow and category placement evolved?

This webinar is for retailers, supplier partners and individual invitees only.

Register to attend the webinar on Thursday 8th October 2020 at 2.00pm (UK time) and all registered attendees will be sent a preview virtual store tour video of Emarat’s latest region leading convenience store.
