DStv Interactive Kiosk Design

Owned by MultiChoice, DStv is a direct broadcast satellite service. Following the launch of their new flagship Customer Experience Centre, DStv wanted to provide another environment where customers could have a hands-on experience of their technology whilst feeling as if it were in the comfort of their own home.

Research had also shown that when looking at digital entertainment shoppers wanted to equip themselves with information beforehand and have expert advice on hand before they reached a purchasing or subscription decision. A kiosk can meet all these requirements and is also well placed to support customers through the Explore, Experience, Check and Join stages of the customer journey.

Working in collaboration with VisualFusion! and the Design Partnership Group we created an interactive kiosk designed for shopping malls with the aim to:

  • Deliver an inspirational environment for rapid immersion.
  • Create an accessible environment for easy acquisition.
  • Offer an engaging and friendly environment to build loyalty and support retention.

The resulting kiosk design included:

  • Clearly branded DStv Screen Pylon incorporating a double sided screen and a self-service kiosk to attract, intrigue and expose to current promotions.
  • Content and hardware bar with modular seating for hands on touch and play in a comfortable, informal environment.
  • Hero content table to engage with content packages and new hardware solutions.
